
Warriors Drop Regular Season Finale

BOISE, Idaho - The Santa Cruz Warriors (19-31) fell to the Idaho Stampede (20-30) 109-106 on Saturday night at CenturyLink Arena.
Darington Hobson paced the Warriors with 24 points and 13 rebounds. Aaron Craft notched 19 points, while Mychel Thompson scored 17 points. Terrence Drisdom added 12 points and six rebounds on 5-of-7 shooting.
Corey Hawkins paced the Stampede with 25 points and seven rebounds. Treveon Graham recorded 23 points and eight rebounds while JJ O'Brien added 18 points. Tibor Pleiss notched a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds.
Idaho would shoot 74% in the opening frame and outscore Santa Cruz 19-10 in the final five and a half minutes of play to hold a 37-26 advantage heading into the second quarter.
Idaho would open the second quarter on a 7-2 run to extend its lead to sixteen points with 9:31 remaining in the half. The Stampede would continue to control the pace of the game in the quarter, leading 57-43 with 4:39 to play. Santa Cruz closed out the first half outscoring Idaho 10-4, behind four points and three rebounds from Dridsom, to enter the halftime break trailing 61-53.
An 18-8 run by the Warriors tied the game at 71-all by the 4:30 mark in the third quarter. Both teams would trade buckets for the remainder of the frame, with Idaho entering the fourth quarter leading by three points.
The Stampede would slowly pull away in the fourth quarter to take a 106-94 lead with 3:09 left on the clock. The Warriors would come back on a 12-2 run to trail 108-106 with 28.6 seconds remaining.
Anthony Vereen would foul Graham, who would split free throws, shifting possession of the ball to Santa Cruz with 2.9 seconds on the clock. Off of the inbound pass from Hobson, Verdell Jones III would miss a potential game tying corner three point shot, giving Idaho the 109-106 victory.
