
Austin Secures Division Championship with Win against Texas 104-84

CEDAR PARK, Texas - The Austin Spurs secured the Division title as Deshaun Thomas posted a team-high 19 points and teammate Brandon Fields contributed 18 points in Austin's 104-84 win over Texas at Cedar Park Center on Saturday night.
Atlanta Hawks assignee Walter Tavares and Cady Lalanne each added 16 points in Austin's win.
Andre Dawkins paced Texas with a team-high 25 points, and teammate Jamil Wilson posted 17 points.
Austin (30-20) posted an early 8-2 lead, but Texas (23-27) would close the gap to two points, 15-13, with seven minutes remaining. Cady Lalanne led Austin in the first quarter recording 11 points to help Austin pull ahead 28-21, while Jamil Wilson paced Texas with 10 points.
Austin used a 17-4 run with nine minutes remaining to gain their largest lead of the half (17). They outscored Texas 22-16 in the quarter, creating a 56-45 halftime lead. Austin shot 49 percent from the field (22-of-45) compared to Texas' 35 percent (15-of-43).
Austin used the second half to continue to grow their lead. They took their largest lead of the game (30) with three minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, 104-74, and came out on top 104-84.
