
Red Claws Finish Regular Season with Win over Knicks

White Plains, NY - The Maine Red Claws, presented by Unum, finished off the regular season with one more win, taking down the Westchester Knicks, 107-95 in a battle of two playoff-bound teams.
Maine (31-19) finished its second straight season as Atlantic Division Champions. Head Coach Scott Morrison has compiled a 66-34 record over his two seasons at the helm of the Red Claws.
The Red Claws were led by James Young, on assignment from the Boston Celtics, with 19 points and 8 rebounds. Marcus Thornton added 18 points, Coron Williams scored 12 points, Levi Randolph added 11. LaDarius White scored 9 points in 15 minutes in his debut with the Red Claws. Corey Walden added 8 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for Maine.
The Claws started hot in the first quarter. Omari Johnson made a lay-up, then hit a three to give Maine the early lead. Andre Stringer scored six straight for the Claws, and Corey Walden's shot was goaltended at the buzzer; the Red Claws led the Knicks 38-28 after one. In the 2nd quarter, the Claws extended the advantage. LaDarius White made a driving lay-up for his first points as a member of the Red Claws, and James Young continued his solid shooting - Maine led 60-51 at halftime.
In the 3rd quarter, Westchester got right back into the game. In the blink of an eye, a double-digit lead was cut to two points at 79-77. Coty Clarke nailed a three to slow down the Knicks, but it was an 82-79 game after three. It was a four point game in the 4th quarter, but Levi Randolph and Coron Williams hit back-to-back three's to put Maine up 92-82. The Red Claws maintained that advantage, with White and Randolph leading the late charge.
The Red Claws enter the 2016 NBA D-League Playoffs as the #2 seed in the East, and will play #3 Canton in Round 1. Here is the playoff schedule:
