Moose Jaw, SK©©© Warrior Joel Edmundson from Brandon, MB was selected 16th in the 2nd round, 46th overall by the St. Louis Blues Saturday at the 2011 NHL Entry Draft in Minnesota. Joel was in attendance for the draft.
Edmundson was ranked #69 by Central Scouting at mid© term, but leapt up the rankings to #33 by the end of a strong rookie season. Joel Edmundson was named the Warriors most improved player of 2010/11¡ªa great indication of how much the 17 year old can improve in just a single season and what a future NHL team could expect with his progress.
Joel says Saturday¡¯s draft is a stepping stone to where he hopes to be in the future. ¡°I have always wanted to make a living out of hockey and now I¡¯m one step closer to that dream¡ªit is just a dream come true to be drafted to the NHL,¡± said Edmundson.
Joel will be back in Moose Jaw in August for training camp and an exiting 2011/12 season.
