
Scarlett Selected By New Jersey Devils In 6th Round

Swift Current, SK - Swift Current Bronco defenceman, Reece Scarlett, was selected by the New Jersey Devils in the sixth round, 159th overall of the 2011 National Hockey League Entry Draft at the Excel Center in Minneapolis today.
Scarlett will enter his third season with the Broncos. The 6'2, 202 pound blueliner scored a career-high six goals and 18 assists for the Broncos in the 2010-11 campaign, leading all Bronco defencemen in those respective categories.
Scarlett was the Broncos first round choice, 12th overall, in the 2008 WHL Bantam Draft. NHL Central Scouting ranked the Sherwood Park, AB product 57th amongst all North American Skaters in the Final Draft Rankings.
Scarlett provided solid defence for Team Canada in the 2011 World Under-18 Championship this past spring. He represented Team Orr in the 2011 Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects Game and notched six points with Team Pacific at the 2010 Under-17 World Hockey Challenge.
