Walleye Season Begins Next Saturday Night

(TOLEDO, OH) - The Toledo Walleye will open up their third season of play next Saturday, October 15 versus the Chicago Express at the Huntington Center in downtown Toledo.

A limited number of tickets for the home opener are available but selling quickly as the date approaches.

Erik Ibsen, Assistant General Manager of Ticket Sales & Operations said, "Opening night is a huge party in downtown and truly sets the tone for the entire season. We are very excited for the season to begin."

Fewer than 900 seats are available for the game which are priced at $17. Standing room only tickets will be made available once all of the seats are sold.

Each of the first two home openers in franchise history were played in front of standing-room-only crowds of 8,000.

Puck drop is scheduled for 7:15 p.m. on Saturday but the Fish Tailgate party presented by the Toledo Blade starts at 4:30 p.m. adjacent to the Huntington Center near Huron Street. Battle of the Bands winner Booyah! will perform live getting fans geared up for the season.

Toledo travels to Kalamazoo for an exhibition game versus the K-Wings tonight at 7:00 p.m. and the same two teams will play at the Huntington Center tomorrow night as part of FinFest. Doors open at 4:00 p.m. and the game begins at 5:00 p.m.
