Toledo Walleye News Release
(TOLEDO, OH) - The Toledo Walleye are pleased to announce that on Saturday, February 13, the team established the new mark for attendance for a Toledo ECHL franchise.
The crowd of 8,200 pushed the 2009-10 attendance to 174,390, breaking the best season for the Toledo Storm. The Storm welcomed 173,601 fans to the Toledo Sports Arena during the 1998-99 season.
The all-time attendance mark in Toledo history is within sight for the Walleye as well. The 1977-78 Toledo Goaldiggers entertained 177,988 fans during the 1977-78 season.
Erik Ibsen, Assistant GM/Ticket Sales & Operations said, "We are very proud of this accomplishment in the first season of Toledo Walleye hockey. The fans in the Toledo community have raised the bar once again and we look forward to seeing many more fans in the final seven regular season home games this year."
