Battle Creek, MI - Despite recording more hits than the Waterloo Bucks (19-5), the Battle Creek Bombers (9-16) dropped the opener, 10-4. Battle Creek issued a season high twelve walks.

Kyle Slack (L 0-4) was sharp through the first two innings as he recorded five strikeouts. Slack allowed two runs in the third before trouble came in the fourth. Battle Creek responded with a pair of runs in the home half of the fourth as Cam Gibson singled home Moore and Joe Serrano with the bases loaded making the score 10-4, but that would be as close as the Bombers would get.
