Green Bay, Wis. - Despite a late comeback, the Bullfrogs were defeated 12-6 by the Mankato Moondogs on Wednesday, marking the Bullfrogs first loss of interdivisional play.

Garrett Harrison started on the mound for the Bullfrogs with Bryan Bonnell getting the nod on the mound for the Moondogs.

Harrison got in trouble early on and often against the Moondogs. A leadoff triple from Tim Arakawa was followed up by a RBI single up the middle from Matt Jones to give the Moondogs a 1-0 lead after the first.

Mankato struck again in the third inning, exploding for five runs. Woody Woodward singled to right field with the bases loaded to bring home the first run, which was scored by Matt Jones. Jonathon Rodriguez followed with a sacrifice fly to right field to tack on another run. Three more unearned runs came to close out the scoring after an error from Trevin Sonnier for Mankato to take a commanding 6-0 lead after the third.

Mankato tacked runs in the fifth, sixth, and seventh frames to take a 9-0 lead over the Bullfrogs. The three runs scored were highlighted by a booming solo home run to right field from John Michael Twichell.

Green Bay finally crossed home plate in the bottom of the seventh inning with a RBI groundout from Nick Torres that scored Jack Parenty from third to narrow the Moondogs lead to 9-1.

Things got interesting in the eighth as the Bullfrogs exploded for five runs. A RBI double from Ryan Matranga and RBI triple from Trevin Sonnier began the scoring for Green Bay. Robert Youngdahl came up to bat next, and crushed his sixth home run of the season over the right field wall, a two runs shot. Nick Torres finished the scoring with an RBI single to left field to score Jack Parenty and narrow the Moondogs lead to 9-6 after eight innings at Joannes Stadium.

However, the Moondogs went on to score three runs in the top of the ninth to take a commanding lead once again. Quinton Mack, who pinch hit for Tim Arakawa in the seventh inning, grounded out, but brought home Jonathon Rodriguez for the first run of the inning. Matt Jones folloed with a two-run single to left field, bringing Hibraim Cordova and Alex Polston to give the Moondogs a 12-6 lead after the top of the ninth.
