PENSACOLA, Fla. - The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp (23-34) fell to the Pensacola Blue Wahoos (33-24) by a 8-7 score in 10 innings in the second game of the five-game series at Blue Wahoos Stadium on Monday night.

The loss ends Jacksonville's four-game winning streak, and evens the series at one game apiece.

Pensacola right-handed relief pitcher Williams Ramirez (3-1) earned the victory by getting the final two outs in the top of the 10th to keep the game tied. Jacksonville right-handed relief pitcher Brett Graves (1-2) took the loss, allowing the winning run in the bottom of the 10th.

Jacksonville struck first in the top of the second inning on an RBI double by J.C. Millan to lead 1-0. The Wahoos tied the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the second inning on a Caleb Hamilton sacrifice fly. The Wahoos scored three runs off four hits against Jacksonville right-handed starting pitcher Cody Poteet in the bottom of the fourth. Jaylin Davis gave the Wahoos a 2-1 lead with his RBI single, then a Mitchel Kranson RBI double made it a 3-2 score. The rally was capped by a Hamilton RBI single that put the Wahoos up 4-1 in the fourth.

Jacksonville climbed back first in the top of the fifth, as Corey Bird delivered an RBI single to make it a 4-2 game. Stone Garrett tied the game at 4-4 in the top of the sixth inning with his two-run triple, and he was at third base with no one out. Wahoos reliever Adam Bray then struck out the next three Jumbo Shrimp batters to strand Garrett and keep the game even at four.

The game remained tied until the bottom of the eighth. With the bases loaded and Hamilton at the plate, a Kinley wild pitch scored Travis Blankenhorn from third to put the Wahoos in front 5-4. Hamilton then delivered a two-RBI single to grow the Pensacola lead to 7-4. For the second straight game Jacksonville entered the ninth inning trailing, yet would rally to force extra innings. Justin Twine's two-run single cut the Wahoos lead to 7-6, then Brian Miller tied the game with an RBI groundout to second to even the score at 7-7.

Jacksonville could not plate a run in the top of the 10th, and the Wahoos walked off a winner in the bottom of the 10th on the game-winning RBI double by Davis to win 8-7. Jacksonville starting pitcher Poteet had a no decision, working six and two-third innings where he allowed four runs (all earned) on six hits with no walks and five strikeouts. Pensacola left-handed starting pitcher Charlie Barnes also had a no decision, working five innings where he allowed four runs (all earned) on six hits with a walk and five strikeouts.

Miller was 2-for-4 in the game to extend his hitting streak to 15 games, the longest hitting streak for a Jacksonville batter in 2019. Also new Jumbo Shrimp infielder Billy Fleming hit a single in the ninth inning, he was just signed by the Marlins as a minor league free agent today and assigned to Jacksonville.
