
Wade Spins a Gem in a 4-0 Win at Binghamton

Binghamton, NY - Konner Wade (6-4) fired seven scoreless innings for the second straight start, and the Portland Sea Dogs (33-35) cruised to a 4-0 win over the Binghamton Rumble Ponies on Thursday night at NYSEG Stadium. Portland took four of five from Binghamton in their final road series of the season.
Portland jumped on the board early, scoring three times in the first inning against Tylor Megill (L, 0-1). Jarren Duran singled to lead-off the game and scored on Tommy Joseph's single. Joey Curletta followed with a double and Charlie Madden smacked a two-run double off the left-field wall.
Megill took the loss in his Double-A debut, allowing five hits on three runs, no walks, and nine strikeouts.
Wade scattered a pair of hits, both with two outs, and finished with four strikeouts.
In the seventh inning, Jeremy Rivera led off with a walk and scored on a fielder's choice by Duran.
Robinson Leyer worked a scoreless eighth and fanned two. Jordan Weems induced a 6-4-3 double play to end the game.
The Portland Sea Dogs begin their final homestand of the season on Friday night against the New Hampshire Fisher Cats (Blue Jays affiliate) with a 7:00 PM start at Hadlock Field. RHP Denyi Reyes makes his final start of the season. Radio coverage on the WPEI U.S. Cellular Sea Dogs Radio Network begins at 6:45 PM. The game is available on the tune-in app and MiLB.TV.
