Bakersfield Condors News Release

Each year, the Bakersfield Californian host the "Best of Kern County" awards, and this season's voting is already underway! There's not a moment to lose in letting everyone know where the Condors rank among Kern County's best. We're proud of all we do here in Condorstown and are especially proud of our loyal fan base, which recently put the Condors in the Final Four of Bakersfield Life Magazine's Best of Bakersfield tournament (thanks, everyone, and congrats to Dewar's, who knocked us out by the narrowest of margins).

Particularly pertinent to the Condors in this survey are Best Family Attraction (question #85) and Best Local Website (#95), as well as Best Customer Service (#13), Best Annual Event (#87) with regard to Teddy Bear Toss, Best Place to Dance (#88), and Best Place to Have a Birthday (#97).

The deadline for voting is Friday, March 13 at 5 p.m.

Cap Giveaway and David Carr - in the house!!

The Condors return home to The Nest to host the Ontario Reign this Friday for Cap Giveaway Night. The first 2,000 fans 5 & older will get a free Condors baseball cap, courtesy KUZZ 107.9 and Flashco, perfect for supporting the Condors in style! Doors open at 6 p.m., the puck drops at 7 p.m.

And don't miss your chance to hear Condorstown native and NY Giants QB David Carr speak at the Condors upcoming Church Day Game, on Saturday, February 21. That day, the Veggie Tales will be in the house to entertain the kids and pose for pictures in the Condors Photo Booth. After the game, Carr will give a motivational speech and Q&A session next door at the Convention Center for all those who would like to attend, for no extra charge. The former Stockdale and Fresno State star is widely respected for his faith and conviction, as well as his fantastic ability to toss a pigskin!

The Church Day game starts at noon, and the doors open at 11 a.m.

This game is an excellent opportunity to organize a group outing for your church or youth sports team and take advantage of the great perks and reduced ticket prices that come with Condors Group Outings! For more information, or to organize a group, click here or contact the Condors Front Office at (661) 324-PUCK (7825).

Sunday's game, also against Victoria, is the conclusion of the 41-hour Fighting Cancer Hockey-Thon. Game time is 2 p.m., while the doors will open at 11:45 a.m. for the Condors vs. West Coast All-Stars Alumni game at noon.

Tip-A-Condor Tickets on Sale Feb. 4

Tickets are now on sale for the 10th annual Tip-A-Condor charity dinner, Tuesday, March 10 at The Crystal Palace. It's a night filled with food and fun, during which the Condors players serve as the evening's waiters and entertainment, working for tips to benefit the Kern County Shrine Club. Tickets are $25 for adults and $15 for children (12-and-under), and be sure to look for members of the Kern County Shrine Club selling tickets on the concourse at every home game. Tickets will also be on sale at the Condors Front Office and the Crystal Palace Box Office.

Hockey-Thon includes Condors vs. West Coast All-Stars Alumni Game There is still time to get online and sign up for the 5th Annual Condors Fighting Cancer Hockey-Thon. The Hockey-Thon, originally created by Condors Legend Kevin Barrett after losing his mother to breast cancer, is a 41-hour hockey marathon for participants of all ages and skill levels that includes two Condors games and is highlighted by the first-ever Condors Alumni vs. West Coast All-Star Alumni Game.

The West Coast All-Stars squad includes former players from the San Diego Gulls, Long Beach Ice Dogs and Fresno Falcons, such as Martin St. Amour, Jason Weaver, Jonathan Shockey, Luke Curtain and more!

To date, the Hockey-Thon has raised more than $162,000 for Links for Life, a local breast cancer resource center. Participants in the Hockey-Thon will be placed into teams according to their skill level and compete in hockey games that run from 11:59 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 20 to the morning of Sunday, Feb. 22. To cap off the Hockey-Thon, the Alumni Game will be held at noon, prior to the regularly scheduled Condors game on Feb. 22.

All Hockey-Thon participants will receive two Condors tickets to the games on Saturday, Feb. 21 (noon) and Sunday, Feb. 22 (2 p.m.), and the first 200 participants to sign up will receive a Hockey-Thon jersey.

Only a handful of tickets remain for Ladies Night!

Been meaning to sign up for Ladies Night but you've put it off? Don't wait a moment longer!

Ladies Night is coming back to Condorstown and only a few spots remain! The Condors Ladies Night will be held on Monday, Feb. 23 and includes a behind the scenes tour of the locker room and arena, Hockey 101 classes taught by the pros themselves, followed by a dinner with select players and coaches mingling with the participants, all starting at 6 p.m.

Participants will get a Ladies Night t-shirt and a ticket to the Budweiser 5-Hole Suite for the game on Tuesday, Feb. 24 against the Alaska Aces at 7 p.m. Ladies Night tickets are $40 for season ticket holders and $50 for non-season ticket holders, and are on sale now!

To reserve your spot, contact the Condors Front Office at (661) 324-PUCK (7825). Ladies Night order forms can also be printed out by clicking here, and faxed to the office at (661) 324-6929. Limited reservations available for Condors suites!

There are only a few dates left on the remaining schedule for the suites available at Condors games!

The Center Ice Suite, for example, has just one open date left! Sunday, February 22 is the only game available - although it would be a perfect location to enjoy not only the Condors vs. Salmon Kings game at 2 p.m., but the Condors Alumni vs. West Coast All-Stars Game at noon! Each of the suites include a whole slew of options for food, beverage and ticket accomodations.
