Salmon Kings Receive Ramsey From Moose

Victoria, BC - The Victoria Salmon Kings, proud affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks and Manitoba Moose, announced today that defenseman Travis Ramsey has been reassigned to Victoria by the Manitoba.

This will mark the Lakewood, CA native's second assignment with the Salmon Kings. He was originally assigned by Manitoba to Victoria on October 24th for a conditioning stint. Ramsey played in 22 games with the Salmon Kings collecting four assists and 39 minutes in penalties. He also had a plus/minus rating of +3.

Ramsey has played in 15 games with Manitoba this season and had notched four assists and 17 minutes in penalties. He began his professional career last season with the Moose participating in seven games after signing a pro-tryout contract on March 12, 2008.

Prior to turning professional the 24-year-old played with the University of Maine Black Bears. In four seasons in Maine he played in 133 games contributing six goals and 18 assists while picking up 102 minutes in penalties.

The 6-4, 211lb blueliner also spent a season in the BCHL with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks. He participated in 57 games collecting 24 points (5g-19a) and was assessed 150 minutes in penalties.
