
Reign Drop Match To Wranglers, 1-5

ONTARIO, Calif. - The Ontario Reign, proud affiliate of the NHL Los Angeles Kings and AHL Manchester Monarchs, fell to the Las Vegas Wranglers, 1-5, Wednesday evening before a crowd of 4,034 at Citizens Business Bank Arena.
Las Vegas opened up the first period with three goals. The Wranglers' first goal came at 5:13 in the first period, when left wing Mick Lawrence slid the puck past Ontario netminder Kellen Briggs. Center Tyler Mosienko and left wing Shawn Limpright registered the assists. Just over five minutes later, Shawn Limpright recorded his second point of the night when he grabbed a rebound that bounced off Brigg's pads, and poked it into the net. Tyler Mosienko registered the assist and his second point of the night.
At 15:07, Tyler Mosienko fed a pass to Mick Lawrence, who threw the puck into the net to give Las Vegas the early advantage, 3-0. Shawn Limpright also registered an assist on the play. The Wranglers led the Reign 3-0 going into the second period.
Left wing Chris Curran dropped the gloves with Las Vegas defenseman Jason Dest at 3:53 in the second period. Curran landed a few haymakers before dropping Dest to the ice. Dest received 5 minutes for fighting, while Curran received 5 minutes for fighting, 5 minutes for boarding, and a game misconduct. During their power play, Wranglers defenseman Dan Spang slid a pass to defenseman Mike Madill, who buried the puck behind Briggs at 7:41, giving Las Vegas a 4-0 lead. Mick Lawrence also registered an assist on the goal.
Ontario got on the board with a power play goal at 11:46 in the third period. Right wing Geoff Walker slid the puck to left wing Ryan MacGregor at the top of the crease. MacGregor slammed the puck behind Las Vegas goaltender Matt Keetley, making the score 4-1. Defenseman P.J. Atherton also registered an assist on the goal.
Las Vegas answered back with a top-shelf goal at 15:03 from defenseman Dan Spang. Ontario was unable to find the back of the net for the remainder of the match, and the Wranglers claimed the victory with a score of 5-1.
