Rob LaLonde Loaned To Syracuse

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that defenseman Rob LaLonde has been loaned to the Syracuse Crunch of the AHL. In a separate transaction, forward Kirk MacDonald has been returned to the Royals from the Iowa Chops of the AHL. In another transaction previously completed, the Royals activated defenseman Gerard Miller from the 7-Day Injured Reserve.

This marks the third stint this season in the AHL for LaLonde, who has had two prior call-ups with the Iowa Chops where he picked up six penalty minutes in seven total games. In twenty-seven games with the Royals this year, LaLonde has scored four goals, assisted on thirteen others (seventeen points) and picked up fifty-three penalty minutes. MacDonald, who was loaned to the Chops on January 28, 2009, scored a goal and picked up four penalty minutes in seven AHL games. In thirty-nine games with Reading this year, MacDonald has scored fifteen goals, assisted on sixteen others (thirty-one points) and registered fifty-one penalty minutes. In twenty-three total games this year (fourteen with Reading), Miller has scored a goal and assisted on seven others (eight points) and picked up forty-five penalty minutes

The Royals season long seven game road trip continues Friday night (February 13 @ 7:05 pm et) when the team travels to Cambria County War Memorial Arena in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to face the Johnstown Chiefs.
