Indianapolis Indians News Release

INDIANAPOLIS - Keon Broxton homered to extend his on-base streak to 19 games and Chris Volstad paced a shutout as the Indianapolis Indians snapped a four-game skid with a 4-0 victory over the Louisville Bats Sunday afternoon at Victory Field.

A crowd of 10,642 was treated to today's finale, giving the Tribe 10,000+ fans for each of its seven games during the homestand and a total attendance of 83,916 (average of 11,988 per game) since last Monday.

Indians starter Volstad (7-4) scattered five hits while pitching into the seventh inning for the fifth time in eight starts. The right-hander is 4-2 with a 2.19 ERA over his last eight assignments.

Broxton widened the Indians' lead to 2-0 in the third inning when he cleared the left-field lawn area with a towering solo shot. Broxton, in his first season at the Triple-A level, has now reached base safely in 19 consecutive games to rank within two of the Tribe's season-high streak, originally set by Major League veteran Steve Lombardozzi.
