Vipers Sign Pitcher

The Calgary Vipers announce the signing of pitcher Scott Watson to a Golden Baseball League contract. The tall 6'5" 210 pound right hander enters his second professional season after making his debut with the Long Beach Armada in the G.B.L. last season. In 15 games out of the bullpen last year the southern California native went 2-0 with a 3.22 earned run average. The 23-year-old is a recent graduate of Long Beach City College.

The Vipers conclude their season's longest road trip which sees the team play ten games in 11 days in Victoria against the Seals tonight, Thursday June 24th at 8:00 PM MDT.

The Vipers return home to Calgary and Foothills Stadium on Friday June 25th at 7:05 PM MDT against the Victoria Seals. On Saturday June 26th the two teams will play a double-header starting at 1:35 PM MDT and it will be Kid's Day at the ballpark where the Inflatamaniacs will perform along with Clowns and Magicians.

On Tuesday June 29th and Wednesday June 30th at 7:05 PM MDT the Vipers will host the Edmonton Capitals for a two-game series. It will be Toonie Tuesday on the 29th and after the game on the 30th the Vipers will host a Canada Day Fireworks Spectacular.

The Calgary Vipers will be hosting 2 to 1 Clinics for Ages 8-14 on Monday July 12th, Tuesday July 13th, and Wednesday July 14th from 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM MDT. Each participant will be paired up with another child and one of the Vipers players for two hours of individual instruction and a live one hour game.
