Tucson Toros News Release
St. George, UT - The Tucson Toros lost the final game of their series in St. George 19-8 on Thursday. Tucson will return home after winning 1 in the 3 game set against the Roadrunners.
Tucson led 1-0 after the 1st inning, but St. George scored 17 times over the next 4 frames to put the game out of reach. Tucson starter Matt Lincoln gave up 10 of those runs, with reliever Brian Daly responsible for 7 more.
Although they allowed 20 hits, Tucson did have 15 knocks of their own in the slugfest led by a 4-hit performance by Rightfielder Lino Garcia that raised his batting average over the .400 mark to .408, good for 4th in GBL. Garcia hit his 3rd home run of the season to go along with a pair of doubles and a single.
Shortstop Ryan Priddy went deep for the second time in the series with his team leading 5th homer. Leftfielder Brian Bistagne also put one over the fence for the first professional home run of his career.
The Toros will return home to begin a 6-game homestand against division rivals Maui and Yuma, kicking off tomorrow with Fireworks Friday at 7:00 p.m.
