ST. GEORGE, UTAH - The St. George RoadRunners scored 17 runs from the second through fifth innings backing starter Jon Dutton in a Thursday blowout of the Tucson Toros 19-8 at Bruce Hurst Field.
Dutton (2-3) gave up four runs (three earned) on nine hits while striking out for to earn his first win since May 29.
Brett Flowers led the offensive charge for the RoadRunners going 5-for-5 with a double and a two run home run (6). The Huntington Beach, CA native became the second player in the series to tally five hits - Henry Calderon also delivered a 5-for-5 performance on Tuesday.
Calderon, Ruddy Yan and C.J. Lang each had three hits. Every starter including Dutton had a hit.
Six balls left the park for St. George, a 2010 season high. Lang hit the first shot - a two-run blast in the second off Tucson starter Matt Lincoln (L, 1-4). Flowers lifted his team best sixth homer in the fourth.
Three departed the playing field an inning later - Yosvany Almario (5) and Jermy Acey (4) went back-to back. Carlos Sosa (2) went opposite field for the inning's final hit. All six hits in the RoadRunner fifth went for extra bags.
David Ramirez (1) hit a towering shot in the eighth inning for his only hit.
Tucson was paced by Lino Garcia with four hits including a home run. Four others tallied two hits apiece - Ryan Priddy, Cristobal Santana, Francisco Plasencia and Brian Bistagne.
St. George bested their highest single-game run total by one (18 vs. EDM) and tied the season mark with 20 hits. The win bumped the RoadRunners to 10-19 on the year and 5-4 against the Toros. Tucson dropped to 14-17.
The RoadRunners welcome in the Edmonton Capitals beginning Friday night for a three-game series over two days. The game will mark the return to Bruce Hurst Field on former RoadRunner Ryan "The Samurai" Stevenson who is the starting centerfielder for the Caps. First pitch is scheduled for 7:05pm Mountain. LHP Brian Holliday is scheduled to start.
After the game will be another Findlay Fireworks Friday display presented by Findlay Automotive Group and the Eureka Resort in Mesquite.

NOTES: Six STG homers doubled the 2010 mark for most in a single game of three previously set on May 27 against Edmonton... The series win is the third at home this year.
