FULLERTON, Calif. (June 24, 2010) - Chico Outlaws' female knuckleball pitcher Eri Yoshida is scheduled to make the road trip to Orange County for a three game series against the Flyers at "The Station" this weekend, according to the Outlaws. The Orange County Flyers and Chico Outlaws begin the three-game series on Friday at 6:05pm. Yoshida, dubbed the "Knuckle Princess", became the first woman to pitch professionally in two countries this season when she made her debut in the United States on May 29.
Yoshida, 18, will be made available to media beginning at 3:15pm on Friday afternoon at Goodwin Field at Cal State Fullerton, according to Chico's Media Director Dan Hawkins, before the Flyers and Outlaws game at 6:05pm. Yoshida will be available to media until 4pm. There are not currently plans from the Outlaws for Yoshida to speak to media before Saturday's doubleheader which begins at 5:05pm.
Friday's game will be the second "Family Film Friday" of the year with a post-game movie being shown on the outfield grass. This week the Flyers will be showing "The Natural" after the game. June 26 will be a "Souvenir Saturday" with a Flyers cap giveaway presented by Outdoor Cap. Saturday's doubleheader which begins at 5:05pm is also Armed Forces Family Night where all members of the military and their families will be admitted free to the ballpark for both games.
