Vipers Activate Janning

MCALLEN, TEXAS - The defending NBA Development League champion Rio Grande Valley Vipers announced Wednesday that they have re-acquired guard Matt Janning (6-4, 198, Northeastern), who was waived due to injury on March 7 with a high left ankle sprain suffered on March 4 at Bakersfield.

Janning takes the roster spot of forward Marquis Gilstrap (6-7, 215, Iowa State), who was waived due to a left knee injury.

Janning is averaging 9.4 points, 3.6 rebounds and 2.6 assists while shooting 41.5% from behind the arc in 36 games (eight starts). The Vipers were 3-3 in his absence.

Gilstrap, who had been out since training camp with a left knee injury, averaged 3.6 points, 2.4 rebounds and 8.4 minutes in five games off the bench.

The Vipers roster stands at 11.
