HIDALGO, Texas - Antoine Walker notched his second straight double-double with 24 points and 13 rebounds and the Idaho Stampede (21-25) beat the Rio Grande Valley Vipers (30-16) for the second time in three days by the final of 115-92 at State Farm Arena on Wednesday night.
The Stampede were led in scoring by Tony Bobbitt, who finished with 26 points (8-10 3FG) and eight rebounds. Each starter scored in double-figures, with Cedric Jackson coming in with a near triple-double with 14 points, nine rebounds, eight assists and three steals. Jackson had just one turnover. Seth Tarver had 13 points and six rebounds and Luke Babbitt had 10 points in just 11 minutes. Sean Banks added 19 points off the bench (8-11 FG).
The Stampede shot 57.7 percent from the field, including making 26-of-41 shots (63.4 percent) in the second half, when Bobbitt made 50-of-6 three-pointers. Idaho also outrebounded RGV 50-29 in the game in which they led by as many as 24.
The Vipers got a game-high 29 points from Jerel McNeal. Jon Scheyer and Terrel Harris each added 12.
Idaho plays the Austin Toros on Saturday and Sunday this week in Austin. Saturday's game is at 11 a.m. (MST), Sunday's starts at 4 p.m. (MST).
