MANCHESTER, NH - The Manchester Monarchs, the primary affiliate of the 2012 Stanley Cup Champion Los Angeles Kings, in partnership with the Portland Pirates and VIP Parts, Tires & Service, are pleased to announce the launching of the official VIP Cup Website, Monarchs President Darren Abbott announced on Friday. The Monarchs and Pirates will battle for the inaugural VIP Cup throughout the 2012-13 season.
The Monarchs and Pirates will face-off against each other on 12 different occasions throughout the 2012-13 season. The team with the best record following those match-ups will be the winner of the inaugural VIP Cup.

The Monarchs and Pirates also play two exhibition games this weekend in a VIP Cup preview. On Sunday, October 7, the Monarchs will travel to the Portland Ice Arena to play the Pirates in a 1:00 p.m. contest. The two teams will turn around and travel to the ICENTER in Salem, New Hampshire for a 3:00 p.m. battle to close out the exhibition season.
The first VIP Cup contest is Saturday, October 20 in Manchester as a part of the Monarchs Home Opening Weekend, presented by AutoFair. Secure your seats through the Opening Weekend Pack!
