Bakersfield Condors News Release
VICTORIA, B.C. - The Bakersfield Condors (2-2-0-0, 4pts) could not figure out goaltender Glenn Fisher, falling to the Victoria Salmon Kings (1-4-0-0, 2pts) 3-0, Friday night at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
After scoring twice against Fisher in Wednesday's 3-1 victory, the Condors failed to find the back of the net on their 36 shots two nights later. RW Wes Goldie tallied two goals for Victoria, which claimed their first victory of the season in five tries. The Condors failed to convert on five power play opportunities, including two full minutes of a 5-on-3 advantage in the third period. G Justin Pogge earned the loss, stopping 32 of 35 shots.
Goldie scored the game's first goal at 9:53 of the first period, directly after an offensive zone draw. Shots after the first period were 13-12 in favor of the Salmon Kings.
The Salmon Kings struck twice in the span of 14 seconds in the second period to take a 3-0 lead. Goldie scored his second of the game with 5:44 remaining in the frame. Andy Brandt followed it up with his first of the season.
The third period featured a dominant performance by Fisher, who did not allow a goal on 14 shots.
