Tri-City ValleyCats News Release

TROY, N.Y.-For the second night in a row, dominant starting pitching was the name of the game at Joseph L. Bruno Stadium. Shane Wolf made the start for the Tri-City ValleyCats on Tuesday night and pitched brilliantly, allowing just two hits and no runs over five innings. Vermont Lake Monsters starter Pat McCoy was also effective, going 5.1 innings, surrendering one run. In the end, however, the Lake Monsters bullpen prevailed as the team went on to win by a score of 4-3.

Trailing 4-1 going into the bottom of the ninth inning, the ValleyCats rallied to score two runs before Vermont pitcher Steven Stewart was able to record the final out. ValleyCats leftfielder J.B. Shuck and catcher Julian Henson scored in the inning after hits from both Shuck and third baseman Chris Jackson. The rally fell just short, though, and the game ended in victory for Vermont.

Tomorrow, the ValleyCats will celebrate Veterans Night at "The Joe". All Veterans who present identification at the box office will be given a free ticket. A fireworks display will follow the game. Tickets are still available and can be purchased at the Joseph L. Bruno Stadium Box Office, by calling (518) 629-CATS, or by logging on to www.tcvalleycats.com.
