Williamsport Crosscutters News Release
HIGHLIGHTS: The Williamsport Crosscutters won their third straight game, beating the State College Spikes Tuesday night by a final score of 5-2.
Starter Justin De Fratus (2-0) pitched five innings in picking up the victory. Michael Schwimer allowed just one hit over the final four innings to notch his first save of the year.
Offensively, catcher Travis d'Arnaud continued his hot hitting going 2-for-4 with a double and RBI to raiser his average to .375. Every Cutters starter had a hit in the game with the exception of DH Darin McDonald.
The win evens the Cutters record at 7-7 and gives them their first 3-game winning streak of the season. Williamsport now leads the SawBuck Series with State College 5 games to 1.
Williamsport begins a 6-game homestand Wednesday night (7:05pm) as the rival Brooklyn Cyclones make their first and only visit to Bowman Field in '08.
