STATE COLLEGE, PA-Williamsport scored a pair of runs off of State College's Kyle McPherson in the fifth inning to break a 2-all tie, enabling the Crosscutters to give the Spikes their fourth straight defeat, 5-2, at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park.

State College (3-11) got a triple from Quincy Latimore in the second inning, and two hits from Cole White to highlight their offensive efforts.

Williamsport (7-7) now takes a 5-1 lead in the 2008 SawBuck Series, with the two teams not scheduled to meet again until August.

Four base hits in the fifth by the Crosscutters off of McPherson (1-1) keyed the Williamsport effort. Arlon Quiroz started things off with a bunt single. With one out, D'Arby Myers, d'Arnaud, and Cody Overbeck each singled in turn to drive in Quiroz and Myers and give the Crosscutters the lead.

D'Arnaud continued to plague the Spikes in 2008 with one of those hits in a 2-for-4 performance. D'Arnaud also doubled and drove in a run in the game. The Crosscutters' catcher, who is the younger brother of the Spikes' Chase d'Arnaud, is now hitting .478 against the Spikes in 2008.
