Valkyries Name Maria Valdehueza Senior Vice President, Ticketing and Events

The Golden State Valkyries have named Maria Valdehueza senior vice president, ticketing and events, it was announced today. Valdehueza joins the Valkyries following 15 years with the Warriors, where she most recently served as vice president, ticketing. In her new role, Valdehueza will lead all aspects of the team's ticketing efforts, including strategic planning and execution surrounding season tickets, group sales, single game initiatives and customer service, as well as event strategy and planning for the Valkyries. She will also continue to oversee Chase Center box office operations for all events.

Valdehueza joins as the team's most recent Executive Leadership Team hire, joining Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications Kimberly Veale and Valkyries General Manager Ohemaa Nyanin. Valdehueza will report directly to Valkyries President Jess Smith.

"She is a proven executive in the Bay Area, having led ticketing efforts for several Warriors' championship runs, and is a large reason why the team has an active sellout streak of 518 games. I look forward to her leadership in creating deep fandom with the Valkyries."

As vice president, ticketing for the Warriors, Valdehueza oversaw the organization's group sales and single-game ticket sales efforts for all Warriors basketball games and Chase Center events. She played an integral role in maintaining the team's active 518 game sellout streak, held since December 2012, and led efforts to develop the Warriors' various theme nights, including Filipino Heritage Night, Fellowship Night, and more. Prior to the 2020-21 season, Valdehueza was responsible for the development and execution of the team's Dub Hub, a virtual fan program used during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Valdehueza joined the Warriors as a sales intern in 2007 before joining the team full-time as a group sales account executive in 2009. She served in various roles on the group sales team including as manager (2014-15), director (2015-2019) and senior director (2019-21) before being promoted to vice president, ticketing in 2021.

Valdehueza has served as an inaugural member of the Warriors' Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Council since 2017 and is the Executive Sponsor of the Women of the Warriors Employee Resource Group. She also previously served as Director Sponsor of the Working Parents Employee Resource Group.

A native of Fairfield, California, Valdehueza earned a B.S. in Business Administration from San Francisco State University.
