Idaho Stampede News Release

OREM, Utah, January 21, 2011 - Carlos Wheeler had 18 points and 11 rebounds off the bench, but the Idaho Stampede (9-16) shot just 34.9 percent from the floor and 18.8 percent (3-of-16) from the three-point line as the Utah Flash (11-10) won 101-87 on Friday night. Idaho scored just 37 points in the first half, trailing by 22 after two quarters.

Cedric Jackson added 15 points, six assists and five rebounds one night after recording his second triple-double of the year. Seth Tarver had 13 points, Antoine Walker pitched in with 10, while bench players Lance Hurdle (11 points) and Willie Jenkins (10 points, five rebounds) added some scoring punch.

The Stampede made 24-of-26 (92.3 percent) free throws, but it wasn't enough to overcome the Flash offense. All five starters scored in double-figures, with Ronald Dupree, Tony Gaffney and Pape Sy each scoring 16 points. The team shot 52.0 percent from the floor and led by as many as 30.

The Stampede return home for a two-game set against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants next Friday and Saturday at Qwest Arena. Both games tip off at 7 p.m.
