Urquhart's Goal Lifts Nailers Past Stingrays

NORTH CHARLESTON, SC -- Patrick Killeen earned his second shutout of the season, as the Wheeling Nailers defeated the South Carolina Stingrays 1-0 at the North Charleston Coliseum Sunday afternoon.

After two scoreless periods, the Nailers found themselves on the penalty kill in the opening moments of the third. Hunter Bishop batted the puck out of the zone to David Urquhart who took off on the breakaway, beating Stingrays goaltender Jared DeMichlel on the glove side high, as Wheeling took a 1-0 lead.

Urquhart's first of the season would be all the Nailers needed, as Patrick Killeen stopped all 22 shots face in the game, for his second career shutout. Wheeling outshot the Rays 33-22 in the game.

The Nailers return home on Wednesday evening at 7"05 p.m. against the Greenville Road Warriors.
