Bakersfield, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors (7-8-1-0, 15pts) had a four-game unbeaten streak snapped with a 4-1 loss to the Victoria Salmon Kings (8-8-0-0, 16pts) Saturday night in front of 5,180 fans at Rabobank Arena.

The Salmon Kings notched the first goal of the game when D PJ Atherton's wrister from the blue line snuck past G Peter Hirsch. The Condors were unable to solve Victoria G David Shantz, and trailed 1-0 after the first period despite out-shooting Victoria 14-6 in the frame.

RW Milan Gajic added to Victoria's lead with less than five minutes remaining in the second period. Gajic corralled a loose puck behind the Condors net, swung out from the left side, and lifted a wrister past Hirsch. The Salmon Kings led 2-0 after two periods

C Rylan Kaip cut the lead in half, when he notched his third goal in the last two games. F Andrew Ianiero dropped the puck to Kaip as he cut towards the net, and Kaip picked the top corner to put Bakersfield on the board. It was as close as the Condors would come, with RW Ryan MacMurchy notching a power play goal and LW Chad Painchaud adding an empty netter to give Victoria the eventual 4-1 win.
