Union records fifth consecutive win for first time in club history

CHESTER, Pa. - The Philadelphia Union beat the Columbus Crew 1-0 on Saturday night at Subaru Park. With the win, the Union remain in first place and are the only remaining unbeaten team in the Eastern Conference with 16 points, outscoring their opponents ten to two in six matches. The Union took the early lead after a Columbus Crew own goal in the second minute, making it the quickest goal to open a match for the Union this season. Goalkeeper Andre Blake recorded four saves, picking up his fourth consecutive clean sheet of the season. The Union have now recorded five consecutive wins, their longest winning streak in club history.
The Union are on the road at BMO Field on April 16th where they will play Toronto FC (7:30 p.m. ET / PHL17).
