HARRISON, New Jersey - Undefeated in its last three road games, CF Montréal bested the New York Red Bulls 2-1 on Saturday at Red Bull Arena. -Defender Rudy Camacho's tying goal was his first of the season and sixth of his career with Montreal.
-Forward Romell Quioto's goal was his second of the season and 18th with the Club.
-Defender Alistair Johnston played his 50th MLS game.
WILFRIED NANCY
"We struggled during those first 15 minutes. But after three or four plays, especially after Djordje's [Mihailovic] post, we found our game. We played a good game considering it is never easy to play against the Red Bulls. Today the players showed character to go out and get this win and it proved their resilience. The goal was to move the ball laterally and play short balls so we had more control. We finished the first half well and the second half I pushed the players. The result today is a consequence of the team spirit within the Club. The objective has always been to remain constructive. The players believe in the project and the style of play."
JOEL WATERMAN
"Today we felt more like ourselves. It was a gutsy performance. We finally felt like we were getting back to how we used to play last year. We defend as a collective unit, and I thought we all played our part today. We didn't like the first 20-25 minutes of our game. We knew they were going to press high. But once we settled down and saw where the spaces were, we settled into the game nicely. This team is resilient. We saw against Cincinnati we can come back and win games on the road. Here again, going down 1-0 and coming back to win was a big three points for the team."
RUDY CAMACHO
"I'm super happy to have scored the equalizer but even more happy with Romell's goal and the win. The Red Bulls are a team that has given us a lot of trouble in the past. Today we won with a lot of character. Last year we had trouble winning on the road, so we want to win more away games this season and string together wins at home. This win was good for our confidence."
