Ulmer's three point night propels Bears past Philly 4-1

Jeff Ulmer scored the game's first goal and assisted on two others as the BEARS beat Philadelphia 4-1 at GIANT Center Wednesday night.

Ulmer's goal at the 6:56 mark of the first period gave him goals in seven consecutive games, tying an AHL season high. Cody McCormick scored his third goal of the season late in the first to run the score to 2-0 HERSHEY. The BEARS would finish the game with two more goals, both of which were scored by Mathieu Darche. Peter Budaj won his 17th game of the season, which tied a career high for the third year pro. Budaj won 17 games last season. The win was also the third straight victory for HERSHEY over Philadelphia dating back to December 10.

HERSHEY with the victory also moved within 11 points of first place in the East Division standings. and eight points behind Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for fourth.

The BEARS have won four of its last five games, and now head to Wilkes-Barre for a date with the Penguins Friday night. Face-off is at 7:05 p.m., with air-time on the BEARS radio network at 6:45 p.m.
