Tyler Carpenter Leads 66ers to Second Consecutive Win over Giants

San Bernardino, CA- Tyler Carpenter pitched six scoreless innings pacing the 66ers (2-8) to a 4-0 shutout of the San Jose Giants (3-4). The Georgia Gwinnet product also struck out five Giants while only giving up one hit along the way. The trio of Keynan Middleton, Ronnie Muck and Eduardo Paredes came out of the 66ers bullpen to pitch the final three frames of shutout ball.

The 66ers scored their first fun in the bottom of the first in an unconventional manner. David Fletcher reached first reached on an infield single. Fletcher would reach then third on two passed balls and would then score on a Taylor Ward single to right field.

Inland Empire would add to its lead in the fifth putting up a three spot. After a Ryan Sebra line out Ayendy Perez would single on a line drive to right field. Fletcher would then get back into the action by hitting a double to right field scoring Perez. Tim Arakawa would then drive a 1-1 pitch from San Jose reliever Jo Reyes to cap the scoring at 4-0.

The series concludes Sunday at 2:05pm. Jake Jewell (0-1 9.00 ERA) will take on San Jose southpaw D.J. Snelten (0-0 0.00 ERA). The game can be heard live on the 66ers radio network through 66ers dot com.
