66ers Pick up First Win of the Season on SB Strong Night

San Bernardino, CA- On a night filled charged atmosphere, the 66ers pulled out their first victory of the season defeating the San Jose Giants 4-2. The 66ers were driven offensively by Caleb Adams and Ryan Sebra who knocked in two runs a piece while starter Jeremey Rhoades (1-1) threw six innings of two run ball en route to his first win of the season.

66ers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. Angel Rosa and Jose Briceno hit back to back singles and later scored on an RBI double by Caleb Adams. Inland Empire would add two more runs in the fourth inning. Adams led off the frame with a single, which was then followed by a Jeff Boehm walk. Trevor Allen then reached on a Brandon Bednar error to load the bases. Jacksonville State product Ryan Sebra then came to a plate and drove in both Adams and Boehm on a ground ball to Giants right field Steven Duggar.

The Giants would answer back in the top of the sixth with a pair of runs. C.J. Hinojosa lead of the frame with a single, which was then followed by a Chris Shaw double. Consecutive ground outs by Aramis Garcia and Duggar would plate two runs before Rhoades was able to get out of the inning.

The 66ers bullpen also had a strong pitching performance on the night. Brian Loconsole followed Rhoades with two scoreless innings of work. The Geneva, Illinois native has now pitched eight scoreless innings to start the season. Eduardo Paredes came on to pitch the ninth and notching his first save of the season.

The series continues Saturday at 7:05pm. Jake Jewell (0-1 9.00 ERA) will take on San Jose southpaw D.J. Snelten (0-0 0.00 ERA). The game can be heard live on the 66ers radio network through 66ers dot com.
