San Jose Earns Series Split with 11-7 Win

San Bernardino, CA - The San Jose Giants downed Inland Empire 11-7 on Sunday to earn a split in a four-game series and snap the Sixers' mini two-game winning streak. Steven Duggar led the way for San Jose (4-4) with a four-hit game including two homers and a double.

It was a game of season-highs, some of which laid the 66ers (2-9) low. The Sixers set a season-best mark offensively with the 7 runs as well as 12 hits. Inland Empire, however, allowed a season-worst in runs (11), hits allowed (16) and errors (4).

Caleb Adams led the offense for Inland Empire (2-9) going three-for-five with a single, double and a triple. It was his second straight game with a three-bagger and his second three-hit game of the year. Jeff Boehm had three hits as well for Inland Empire. Zach Houchins had two hits and two walks for the Sixers while Trever Allen chipped in a two hits including his first double of the year.

Ronnie Jebavy and Richard Rodriguez each had three hits for the Giants, while Christian Paulino added two. The Giants stole five bases on the day with Paulino nabbing two of them. Jake Jewell (0-2) took the loss after giving up six runs (five earned) on nine hits in 2.2 IP with no walks or strikeouts. DJ Snelten (1-0) earned the win for San Jose. He gave up two earned runs on seven hits in five frames.
