Two Hits Match Season Low for Tourists

Asheville Tourists News Release
HICKORY - The Hickory Crawdads came out strong after the Asheville Tourists handed them a 6-4 defeat last night. The Crawdads hit a pair of homers and limited the Tourists to only two hits with a 7-1 series evening final score.
Asheville fell behind 3-0 after two innings. They put together their first and last rally in the third inning. Will Golson reached on an error, Niko Decolati and Terrin Vavra walked, and Coco Montes lined an RBI single into right field. However, a pair of outs on the base-paths potentially cast them more.
The Tourists worked a total of six walks in the game but only had one base-runner over the final five innings. The Crawdads used a pair of runs in the fifth to create some cushion and added two more in the eighth for their final victory margin.
Golson and Montes were the only Tourists players with hits. Both of them were singles. Asheville was held to just two hits when they faced Hickory back on April 15. Miguel Ausua started and Raymells Rosa relieved the left-hander for the final 3.2 innings.
Former Rockies prospect, Pedro Gonzalez, hit his 19th Home Run of the year on a lead-off blast for the Crawdads in the fifth inning. Asheville and Hickory will take the field on Sunday for game three of this four-game series. The first pitch is scheduled for 5:00pm.
