Cincinnati Cyclones News Release
CINCINNATI, Ohio - The 2010 Kelly Cup Champion Cincinnati Cyclones, proud affiliate of the NHL's Florida Panthers and Nashville Predators, announced today that team captain Barret Ehgoetz and former Cyclones captain Chad Starling were named to the ECHL All-Decade Team.
Now in his sixth season in the ECHL, Ehgoetz has amassed 271 points...241 of them with the Cyclones. His name is all over the Cyclones franchise record books, as he holds the all-time lead in points (241), games played (280), shots (710), and shorthanded goals (9). In 2009-10, Ehgoetz was named as the ECHL Sportsmanship Award winner as voted on by the league's coaches. He scored 47 points (18 goals, 29 assists) in 74 Kelly Cup Playoff games during the decade and also played in the 2009 ECHL All-Star Game, tallying two assists. All but one of his professional seasons have been spent in Cincinnati.
Starling, an ECHL player since 2001, won the 2008 Kelly Cup with Cincinnati and has logged 512 games to date in the premiere "AA" hockey league. Starling's two best seasons came as a member of the Cyclones...41 points (6 goals, 35 assists) in 133 games in the Queen City. Starling was the 2008 Plus Performer of the Year when he finished +48 which is tied for the fifth-highest plus-minus rating in a single season in ECHL history.
The defending Kelly Cup Champions are on the ice TONIGHT when they host Toledo at 7:30pm. It's another "Wet Wednesday" where fans can purchase $1 Pabst Blue Ribbon and Miller High Life. Discounted ticket packages and single game tickets for the 2010-2011 season are available now. For more information, call 513.421.PUCK (7825) or visit CyclonesHockey.com.
