Elmira Jackals News Release
The Elmira Jackals exited their busiest six-day stretch of the 2010-2011 season with seven points of a possible 10 in five games and with a seven-point advantage for first place in the Atlantic Division of the Eastern Conference.
The Jackals began the week with back-to-back victories on the road in Cincinnati on Tuesday, 4-2, and Toledo on Wednesday, 4-1. Elmira followed that up with a third-straight win on Friday, this time at home, 4-3 over Reading before falling to the Royals on Saturday, 6-3. The Jackals ended the week on Sunday in a back-and-forth overtime loss, 5-4, at Wheeling to the Nailers.
Elmira hosts South Carolina on Friday and Trenton on Saturday at 7:35 p.m. at First Arena. For tickets, call (607) 734-7825, visit the First Arena Box Office, or log onto JackalsHockey.com.
WHERE'S JUSTIN?
When searching for second-year center Justin Donati among the ECHL's scoring leaders, it is usually a good idea to start at the top of the list. The Oakville, Ontario paces the league with 19 points through four weeks, one season after Donati topped the league's rookies with 42 goals, 62 assists, and 104 points. Donati led the league last week with nine points (1g-8a).
DUBUC'S NINTH PROVES CLUTCH
Michael Dubuc's third-period tally in Wheeling on Sunday wound up sending the contest into overtime, giving the Jackals a point. His nine goals are tied for second-most in the ECHL and lead the Jackals.
