Hickory, NC- South Atlantic League President Eric Krupa has announced the rosters for the 58th Annual SAL All-Star Game in Columbia, SC on June 20th, with two members of the Hickory Crawdads named to the Northern Division team.

Yanio Perez was voted in as a utility outfielder while Ricky Valencia was selected as a catcher.

Perez, 21, has been one of the most consistent hitters in the league as he is currently tied for 3rd in home runs (9), batting average (.333), and OPS (.972). He has recorded a hit in 32 of 43 games played, with 14 of them multi-hit games. The Cuba native also had an 8-game hitting streak earlier this season. Signed as an international free agent in 2016, Perez was named the SAL Player of the Week on April 30th after a monster week at the plate hitting .609 with 5 home runs, 14 hits, 30 total bases, and 13 RBI over the 7-game stretch .

Valencia, 24, is batting .286 with 3 home runs, 8 doubles and 15 RBI on the season. The Venezuela native has recorded a hit in 23 of 30 games played this season, including 7 multi-hit games. Behind the plate, Valencia has thrown out 29% of would-be base stealers.
