Kannapolis Cannon Ballers News Release
LAKEWOOD, N.J. -- The Kannapolis Intimidators, Class A Affiliate of the Chicago White Sox, have received outfielder Courtney Hawkins from the Class AA Birmingham Barons prior to Tuesday morning's game at Lakewood. In a corresponding move, outfielder Tyler Sullivan has been transferred to the Great Falls Voyagers roster.
Hawkins, 23, was activated from the Barons' Disabled List and transferred to the Intimidators where he will bat third against the BlueClaws today as the team's designated hitter. He first joined Kannapolis shortly after being selected by the White Sox in the first round of the June 2012 First-Year Player Draft. Hawkins spent 16 games with the Intimidators in 2012 before a late-season promotion to Class A-Advanced Winston-Salem. The Corpus Christi, Texas, native has been with the Barons since 2015 after two years with the Dash (2013-14).
The Intimidators face the BlueClaws at 11:05 a.m. at FirstEnergy Park in Lakewood, N.J., to open a 3-game series.
