Utah Grizzlies News Release

West Valley City, Utah - The Atlanta Thrashers have called-up former Utah goaltender Dan Turple from the AHL's Chicago Wolves.

Turple started two games with Utah January 30 and February 4 and went 0-0-0-2 with a .909 save percentage and a 3.65 goals-against-average.

The 24-year-old was a draft pick of the Atlanta Thrashers in 2004.

He joins Trevor Smith, Andrew MacDonald, Joel Rechlicz and goalie Peter Mannino as Utah players within the last year to be promoted to the National Hockey League this season. Current Utah goaltender Mike Mole was called-up to the Islanders last March.

Mole, Mannino and Turple were all on the Utah roster together from February 6-February 18, 2009.

16 former Grizzlies were on NHL rosters at the start of the 2008-2009 season.

The Grizzlies return to action Friday and Saturday to host the Alaska Aces at the E-Center to complete the regular season. Face-off both evenings is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
