ROSTER UPDATE:
The Condors signed F Ryan Gervais to an Amateur Try-Out Agreement Friday and placed him on 3-IR. Rookie G Jerad Kaufmann was transferred from the 3-IR to 7-IR on Friday. He is eligible to be activated on Monday. LW Bobby Bolt (30-IR) is eligible to come off the 30-IR, but has not been activated.
PLAYOFF PICTURE:
The Condors magic number for clinching a playoff spot dropped to five points with last night's win. The Phoenix RoadRunners, currently in 9th place in the National Conference, were idle, but host the Alaska Aces tonight. Bakersfield's magic number is calculated through standing points gained or Phoenix points lost. A Condors victory tonight and a Phoenix loss, for example, would put the Condors magic number at one (four total points difference). Stockton remains tied with Bakersfield for 3rd place, by virtue of identical win percentages (though the Condors have one more point and also own the head-to-head tie breaker), while the Condors sit just three points behind Las Vegas for 2nd place in the division, although ultimately the deciding factor for the position in the standings is win pct (calculated in hockey by dividing standings points gained by total potential points).
PROMOTIONAL NOTES:
Tonight the first 2,000 kids 12 & under will get a Street Hockey Stick & Puck set, courtesy of KGET-TV 17, HOT 94.1 and Carl's Jr.
