FC Tulsa News Release
SAN ANTONIO, TX - The Tulsa Roughnecks FC traveled to Texas to take on San Antonio FC who sat in 16th place in the USL Championship Western Conference. The first half would see the San Antonio FC score the first goal with a shot by Brian Gomez in the fifth minute following a great cross from the right. The Tulsa Roughnecks FC answered back quickly when Rodrigo Da Costa curled a left footed free kick by the San Antonio FC goalkeeper, Matthew Cardone, in the twelfth minute. Both teams tested the opposition's goal but entered halftime tied at one a piece.
San Antonio FC started the second half quickly with a series of half-chances only to be stopped by Mason Stajduhar and the Tulsa Roughnecks FC backline. The humidity had taken a toll on both teams at this point with the second half becoming very open. Substitutions made by Head Coach Michael Nsien, saw Fredlin Mompremier and Akeil Barrett come in with a push to score the winning goal. Despite both teams' efforts, the game would finish in a draw at 1 -1 with both teams earning a point.
The Tulsa Roughnecks are back on the road next weekend as they travel to Nevada to play the Las Vegas Lights FC. They then return to Tulsa to take on the Austin Bold FC on Saturday, June 1st at ONEOK Field in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
