Nashville SC News Release
NASHVILLE - Nashville Soccer Club hosted an IMPACT event at East Park in East Nashville on Friday afternoon with kids from the Soccer for the Nations program.
The program, run by Nashville SC supporter group The Roadies, works to provide disadvantaged children of any cultural background with the opportunity to play organized soccer. As a part of the program, children are provided with coaching, equipment and gear to go along with small sack meals, healthy snacks and drinks.
While the NSC players were getting prepped for a big match on Saturday night against Charlotte Independence, the Nashville SC community team played soccer with the kids.
The community team and about 60 children worked on soccer drills and played some small scrimmages. All of the children participating received Nashville SC jersey shirts. Two other special guests were in attendance as well as Nashville SC minority owners Chris Redhage and Marcus Whitney played street soccer with the kids.
IMPACT seeks to provide the opportunity for anyone to experience the game no matter their background or economic standing. IMPACT will create a safe, stress free environment for individuals to develop and build important skills, including communication, creativity, collaboration, confidence, and consideration. IMPACT hopes to encourage both positive short and long-term changes in individuals' lives throughout Tennessee.
