Charlotte Independence News Release
Nashville (TN) - Coming off a short week and an exit from the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, the Charlotte Independence battled Nashville SC to a one-all draw on Saturday night at First Tennessee Park. For the fourth time this season, Independence forward Dominic Oduro scored off an Enzo Martinez assist.
In the 15th minute, a quick-combination counter-attack starting with Independence forward Zyen Jones set up Enzo Martinez who assisted Dominic Oduro. Oduro has lead the way offensively for the Jacks racking up three goals and an assist in the Independence's last four USL Championship matchups.
The high-powered Nashville attack equalized in the 23rd minute as Independence goalkeeper Curtis Anderson made a double-save attempt, but Lebo Moloto eventually collected the rebound.
The Independence will continue into the second of a four-game away stretch next week at the Pittsburgh Riverhounds. The official watch party will be hosted at Jack's House Soccer Bar and Event Space. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM ET. The Independence will return home on Saturday, June 15th versus Birmingham Legion FC. Tickets are now on sale.
