Houston Dynamo FC News Release
HOUSTON - The Houston Dynamo and TUDN Radio Houston have extended their broadcast partnership through the 2022 season making TUDN Radio Houston the Official Spanish Radio Home of the Dynamo, the two organizations announced today.
The three-year agreement begins this month as the Dynamo return to action at the MLS is Back Tournament in Florida. TUDN Radio Houston, available on KLAT 1010 AM, will carry every Dynamo match live during the MLS is Back Tournament.
"As we get set to return to competitive action, we are excited to announce that fans can follow every touch, every tackle and every goal on TUDN Radio Houston," said Dynamo President John Walker. "Our partnership with TUDN has played a significant role in expanding our reach in the city and region over the last five years. We are excited to build on this foundation with a network like TUDN that is synonymous with the sport."
The 2020 season marks the fifth year that Dynamo matches have aired on KLAT 1010 AM. The partnership began prior to the 2016 season as part of Univision Radio Houston programming.
"The Houston Dynamo legacy is first class, they are an incredible soccer brand and a perfect match for our sports radio broadcasting flagship - TUDN Radio," said Univision Houston President and General Manager John M. Hannon. "This partnership provides us an opportunity to satisfy the thousands of Houston fans that are looking forward to the return of Houston Dynamo soccer with great anticipation."
Dynamo matches on TUDN Radio Houston will feature veteran broadcaster Daniel Mejia and KXLN-TV Univision 45 sports anchor Lester Gretsch in the booth. This is the 12th season for Mejia as a play-by-play commentator for the Dynamo and Gretsch enters his fifth season in the booth for the club.
Additionally, Gretsch will continue to host "La Charla Técnica," a weekly program featuring Dynamo players and coaches. La Charla Técnica airs every Saturday at 10 a.m. on 1010 AM and is reproduced as a weekly podcast on the Club's Dynamo Digital platform.
