Tribe to Push for Playoffs in Upcoming Homestand

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indians continue their push for the playoffs when they return home to Victory Field on Tuesday for the start of a ten-game homestand that includes matchups with playoff contenders Louisville, Columbus and the Hall-Of-Famer Ryne Sandberg led Lehigh Valley IronPigs. On tap will be two Indianapolis Star 2-for-1 Tuesdays and two Thursday Night Value Pack nights, along with a Business Day Game, Friday Night Fireworks, ZOOPer Zaturday, Souvenir Sunday and the final Monday Dollar Menu of the regular season.

Tue. August 16 Louisville 7:05 p.m. Presented by --The Indianapolis Star/Indiana Criminal Justice Institute Navy Leap Frogs Sky Divers --Prior to the contest, several members of the Navy Leap Frog Sky Diving Team will land in the stadium, weather permitting, to deliver the baseball Rear Admiral Scott T. Craig will throw as a ceremonial first pitch. After the jump, the divers will be on hand to sign autographs, while simulators will be set up along the concourse for fans to interact with. The Indianapolis Star 2-for-1 Tuesday --Fans can clip a buy-one-get-one free ticket coupon from Sunday's edition of The Indianapolis Star prior to Tuesday's contest.

Wed. August 17 Louisville 1:05 p.m. Business Day Game -- Enjoy an afternoon away from the office with co-workers, clients, or friends. With a 1:05 p.m. start time, lunch and a game at the ballpark is easier than ever. Parking Shuttle --The Indians continue to offer a Business Day parking shuttle for each weekday day game at Victory Field. Fans may park at Lucas Oil Stadium (Gate 1 on Missouri Street) for $5 and take advantage of a complimentary shuttle to the ballpark. The shuttle will run continuously from 90 minutes before the game until 30 minutes after the contest.

Thu. August 18 Louisville 7:05 p.m. Presented by -- Indiana Blood Center/Knozone IMPD vs. IFD Softball Game --Gates will be open at 5:00 p.m. as the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department will take on the Indianapolis Fire Department in their annual "Battle of the Badges" softball game prior to Thursday's contest. Thursday Value Pack --Fans get more bang for their buck at Victory Field with the Thursday Value Pack. A $15 ticket also includes a hot dog, unlimited soda and a choice of a souvenir item.

Fri. August 19 Louisville 7:15 p.m. Presented by -- Coors Light/Indy Tire Centers/ERMCO

Shattering the Silence Cell Phone Drive --Fans can bring their unwanted or old cell phones to the ballpark to be donated to the IMPD Domestic Violence Advocate to distribute to DV victims to call 9-1-1 for emergencies. Friday Night Fireworks --Everyone's favorite night of the week just got better with Friday Night Fireworks at Victory Field. Stick around after the game for a fantastic fireworks show shot from center field.

Sat. August 20 Lehigh Valley 7:05 p.m.

ZOOper Zaturday --The ZOOperstars! inflatable characters perform during Saturday games throughout the season. Fans will be entertained by the antics of the likes of Ramdy Johnson, Harry Canary, Mackerel Jordan and the rest of the zany ZOOperstars team. Faith And Fellowship Night --Bring your church group out to the ballpark for a night of fellowship, with a pre-game concert included in the right field area starting at 5:40 p.m.

Souvenir Sunday - Indians Slippers --The first 2,500 fans in attendance receive their own cuddly Indians slippers. These Tribe-themed, one-size fits all slippers are so comfy you'll want to wear them to the ballpark! Knot Hole Run --Members of the Indianapolis Indians' Knot Hole Kid's club get the chance to run the bases following the conclusion of the game.

Monday Dollar Menu --Don't miss out on the final Monday Dollar Menu of the 2011 season. For the last time this season fans can get hot dogs, peanuts, Cracker Jack, popcorn, and chips all for just $1 each. There is a limit of four hot dogs, but don't worry...its only per concession visit.
