Tribe To Fight Breast Cancer On Mother's Day

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Indianapolis Indians are proud to join forces with Community Breast Care and the Young Survival Coalition to promote awareness about breast cancer. On Sunday, May 9, the Tribe plays host to the Buffalo Bisons at 2:00 p.m. and, in honor of Mother's Day and breast cancer awareness efforts, each Indians' player will wear a pink jersey during the contest.

Fans may bid on the game-worn jerseys through the end of the seventh inning and all proceeds will benefit the Young Survival Coalition. The first 2,500 fans in attendance will receive a pink eco-friendly aluminum water bottle and all those attending the game are also encouraged to wear pink to show their support. Susan G. Komen for the Cure will also be on-hand to take part in the pre-game ceremonies.

WHO: The Indianapolis Indians, Community Breast Care and the Young Survival Coalition.

WHAT: The Indians are partnering with Community Breast Care, the integrated breast health center at Community Health Network, to raise money for the Young Survival Coalition, an organization dedicated to helping women 40 years of age and younger who have been diagnosed with breast cancer.

WHY: The Indians are proud to support the Young Survival Coalition for the third consecutive season with the team's Pink Jersey Auction. The objective of Breast Cancer Awareness Night at Victory Field is to help in the efforts to find a cure for breast cancer, to celebrate survivors and to support those who are currently battling the disease.
